Stripe payments that land in your account, not ours

Claver connects to your own Stripe account, so you stay the merchant of record and the money never routes through us. Customers pay Stripe standard rates, 2.9% + 30¢ on cards or 0.8% on ACH, and Claver adds no markup. Payments are on every plan, starting at $19/mo.

Claver never holds your funds. Every charge settles into the Stripe account you connected, on Stripe payout schedule.

How to connect Stripe

Connection is Stripe OAuth. You approve it from your own Stripe login, and Claver stores only the account id it is allowed to charge on behalf of. You need to be the owner or an admin.

  1. Open Settings, then the Payments tab. The card at the top is titled Stripe Account.
  2. Click Connect Stripe Account. It takes about two minutes. Stripe walks you through sign-in, or through creating an account if you do not have one.
  3. Confirm the badge reads Connected. Claver shows whether you connected in live mode or test mode, along with the account id and a link into your Stripe dashboard.
  4. Turn on ACH if you want it. ACH is a per-account toggle. On a $1,000 invoice it saves roughly twenty dollars in fees against a card.
  5. Set your default deposit. Deposit defaults live on the same tab, so every new quote asks for the same percentage without you thinking about it.

Why there is no payment markup

Some field-service platforms take a slice of every card you run, on top of the processor rate. Claver does not. Your customers pay Stripe standard rate, 2.9% + 30¢ on cards or 0.8% on ACH, and the money goes straight into your own Stripe account. Claver never sits between you and your cash, which also means a billing dispute with us can never freeze your deposits.

Which plan includes it

Payments start on Starter at $19/mo: quotes, invoices, card and ACH payments, deposits, and cards on file. Crew at $39/mo adds surcharge pass-through and instant payout. Nothing about payments is metered by Claver on any tier.

What to know before you switch

  • Tap to Pay needs the native app. The contactless flow runs in the Claver mobile app, not in a browser tab, so it is not reachable from a laptop.
  • ACH is not instant. Bank debits take about five days to clear, which is the trade for the far lower rate.
  • You need your own Stripe account. Claver does not resell processing, so onboarding, payouts, and disputes are between you and Stripe.

Stripe payments FAQ

Does Claver charge a fee on payments?
No. Claver does not mark up payments. Your customers pay Stripe standard rate, 2.9% + 30 cents on cards or 0.8% on ACH, and the money goes straight to your own Stripe account. Claver never touches your funds, so you stay the merchant of record and your payouts run on Stripe schedule rather than ours.
Can I take ACH bank payments in Claver?
Yes. ACH is a per-account toggle in Settings under Payments, and once it is on, bank payment is offered alongside cards at checkout. It runs at Stripe standard 0.8% instead of 2.9% plus 30 cents, which is a meaningful saving on larger invoices, and the funds take roughly five days to clear. Claver shows the expected clearing date on the payment so you are not guessing.
How do I connect Stripe to Claver?
Open Settings, then the Payments tab, and click Connect Stripe Account. It takes about two minutes. You sign in with Stripe, or create an account if you do not have one, and approve the connection. Claver then shows whether you are in live or test mode, along with your account id and a link into your Stripe dashboard. Only an owner or an admin can connect or disconnect it.
Does Claver support Tap to Pay on a phone?
It is built, but it runs in the Claver native mobile app rather than in a browser, so you cannot take a contactless payment from a laptop. The server side is in place and the flow uses Stripe Terminal on the phone hardware, with no card reader to buy and no monthly reader fee. If you need contactless today, the payment link on the invoice already works from any phone.
