What a lawn care estimate should include

A complete lawn care estimate sets clear expectations before the first mow and gives the customer everything they need to commit to a seasonal program with confidence.

• Customer and property details - name, phone, service address, lot size in square feet, and any gate, dog, or irrigation notes
• Service frequency - one-time clean-up, weekly mowing, biweekly maintenance, or a full season program (spring through fall)
• Itemized services per visit - mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, hedge work, fertilization, weed control, or aeration, with the line price for each
• Materials and applications - fertilizer blends (NPK ratio), herbicide products, and seed types with application rates per 1,000 sq ft
• Seasonal scope - spring startup (first cut, pre-emergent), summer maintenance, fall clean-up (leaf removal, final cut), and winterization
• Crew and equipment - crew size, mowers used, and whether clippings are bagged, mulched, or side-discharged
• Validity period - an expiration date, since service pricing moves with fuel and material costs
• Skip and weather policy - what happens when rain cancels a visit (rescheduled, skipped that week, or prorated)
