What this calculator covers

Every input maps to a real cost you're either tracking or leaving out of your bids. Most operators who underprice lawn care are missing at least two of these eight factors.

  • Lot size in square feet. The primary driver of mowing time and chemical application costs, since pricing scales directly with area
  • Services per visit. Mowing, edging, trimming, blowing, hedge work, or fertilization each add labor time and change the job total
  • Labor time per visit. Estimated minutes on site, which converts to labor cost when multiplied by the hourly tech rate
  • Material cost per visit. Fertilizer, pre-emergent, herbicide, or seed tracked separately so markup is applied correctly
  • Drive time and fuel cost. The per-stop drive cost, which varies by route density and is often underpriced by new operators
  • Desired gross margin on materials. The markup applied to chemicals and materials, typically 30 to 50 percent in lawn care
  • Frequency. Weekly, biweekly, or monthly, since recurring visits spread fixed setup costs and support lower per-visit prices
  • Recommended price. The minimum price to break even on this stop, plus the price at target margin, both shown clearly

Keep the numbers when the job is booked

Inside Claver the same estimate becomes the quote you send, and the quote becomes the invoice you get paid on, so nobody retypes a price between the driveway and the bank.

Lawn care pricing calculator FAQ

How do I price lawn care services?
Start with your labor cost for the visit, add material cost with markup, add a share of drive time and fuel, then apply your target gross margin. Most lawn care operators charge between $40 and $80 for a standard residential mow, with the price scaling up for larger lots, additional services, and lower-density routes where drive time per stop is higher.
Is this calculator really free?
Yes, the lawn care pricing calculator is free with no signup, no credit card, and no data stored, so the cost and lot size numbers stay on the device.
How do I handle different lot sizes in my pricing?
Many operators price in size bands (small under 5,000 sq ft, medium 5,000 to 10,000, large over 10,000) and apply a flat rate per band. This calculator lets you set your labor rate and time estimate per visit so the math works for any lot size you enter.
